April 4th and it’s snowing. I wish it was some sort of delayed April Fools joke—but I dragged myself out of bed this morning and rubbed my eyes a couple times until it hit me that my garage was dusted in snow. Arrgg..

Despite the weather, it was a great day. I went to breakfast at Oasis, a great local place connected to a new age bookstore. They had a used book section, one of my downfalls in life, and ended up walking out with The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.

Afterwards, I headed to a local yarn shop Soul Spun Yarn. My friend Allie told me she thought she saw signs for going out of business. Not knowing what this would mean to a knitter, she made my day. Downfall #2: yarn on sale. 5 skeins of beautiful hand painted yarn from Uruguay later, I was a happy camper. We went climbing for a couple of hours and after being out of the loop for a couple months, I was surprised to feel great. A little shaky, but great. I guess snow days can be good after all.
